Alex Ross Museum Exhibit
More pix from today's WIZ-GANG road trip with Alex Ross, Jim Wisniewski, Alan Weiss, Hilary Barta, Kevin Ervin, Scott Gustafson, and Gene Ha to Alex's Dunn Museum exhibition. Gene Ha outed Alex's presence to a school group who was there when we were. Hilary Barta and I separately explained to some accompanying adults that all the art in the gallery was ORIGINAL, which had them all looking more closely. Alex's originals, in person, are SO polished, it's really easy to think they're prints. Besides the hanging art, some highlights are the incredible life-size Captain America (which, as Kevin Ervin observed, proves that a movie version of Cap in his real costume would've looked great, and not silly as the movie makers always claim), the corrugated cardboard Galactus prop mask used for photo reference, and a case of Alex's childhood hand-made Marvel figures and drawings (as seen in MARVELOCITY).
